Weijia Jiang is an award-winning Senior White House Correspondent for CBS News and President of the White House Correspondents' Association, making her the first woman of color to hold this leadership position. With more than a decade of experience as a broadcast journalist, she has covered everything from the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School to Pope Francis's historic visit to the United States, President Obama's visit to Hiroshima, and traveling aboard Air Force One for major diplomatic meetings. Named CBS News White House Correspondent in July 2018, Jiang leads the organization that represents journalists covering the presidency and advocates for press freedom and access. She is an alumna of the College of William and Mary and the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University.
